Let's celebrate the inspirational women around us!

The days are getting longer and temperatures seem to be getting (slightly) higher; it’s officially March! With the transition from the cold winter to the first signs of spring – March is a month of change, and therefore seems to be a fitting time to celebrate the global accomplishments of women, while noting the changes that still need to be made.

March has long been known as Women’s History Month and the focal point within this is International Women’s Day, taking place on the 8th of March every year. A day to honour the achievements and courage of women – International Women’s Day is celebrated across the globe and has even been recognised as an official holiday in countries across Asia and Africa.

With International Women’s Day now being 3 sleeps away, we thought it was high time to put some of the amazing women behind 200 Conference & Events in the spotlight. Whether it’s through their constant dedication and enthusiasm, the ways they are fighting existing stigmas and prejudices, or through their immense passion for their workplace and the community surrounding it – these women continue to inspire and surprise us every single day!

Karolina – Senior Therapist at The Spa at 200

International Women's Day 200 Conference & Events

Meet Karolina: Senior Therapist at The SPA at 200, expectant mum of two baby girls, and an inspiration to all of us here at 200 Conference & Events. Whilst expecting two little ones is sure to come with its daily struggles, Karolina never fails to surprise us with her passion, enthusiasm, and especially her ability to brighten the day of everyone around her.

Karen – Chef de Partie at the Restaurant on 6th

International Women's Day 200 Conference & Events

Fighting your way into a male-dominated industry is by no means an easy feat! Karen has been working in kitchens for nearly 40 years and has been challenging the stigmas surrounding “cheffing” along the way. Now working as a Chef de Partie at our Restaurant on 6th – we love seeing how she is claiming her place in the culinary world.

Kitti – Manages The Shore Loch Lomond

International Women's Day 200 Conference & Events

Last but not least is Kitti, who manages our sister venue The Shore Loch Lomond with unparalleled passion and dedication. Her love and appreciation for this iconic place, its natural heritage, and the community surrounding it is central to everything she does – and that is something we find extremely inspiring.

International Women’s Day is set to take place this Sunday, 8th of March. This year’s theme is #EachforEqual and is aimed at encouraging people to take responsibility and challenge existing stereotypes, fight bias, and broaden perceptions. You can find more information on what you can do to help on the official IWD website.

Be sure to let us know how you will be celebrating the inspirational women around you this Sunday!
